GFI Mail security fir Exchange/SMTP/Lotus

Version: 10 (Released Jun 15, 2006)
Overview: http://www.gfi.com/mailsecurity/
ReportPack: http://www.gfi.com/mailsecurity/msecreportpack.htm
White papers: http://www.gfi.com/mailsecurity/msecpapers.htm
Why one virus engine is not enough
Protecting your network against email threats
Case studies & testimonials: http://www.gfi.com/mailsecurity/mseccustomers.htm
Product webcast: http://www.gfi.com/mailsecurity/msecwebcast.htm
IT pain points/soundbites
• 98% of organizations have anti-virus software installed, yet 52% have been affected by a virus attack at least once
during the previous 12 months – Crime and Security Institute Survey, 2007. This indicates that using one AV engine
may not be enough to filter viruses, especially new ones.
• 39% of US SMBs consider viruses to be the greatest threat – GFI SMB Security Survey 2007.
• No single AV vendor scanner is the best and can stop all viruses.
Main features
• Multiple virus engines (Norman Virus Control, BitDefender included; Kaspersky, McAfee, AVG Anti-Virus optional).
• GFI Trojan & Executable Scanner that detects unknown malicious executables.
• GFI Email Exploit Engine – safeguards you from future email viruses and attacks.
• User/Group based email content policies (content and attachment checking).
Major selling points - The leading SMB email security product with up to 5 virus scanners
• GFI MailSecurity has 5 virus engines (2 ship with the product) while other products only offer one. Multiple virus
engines guarantee a higher detection rate and fastest possible response to new viruses.
• Comprehensive email security solution that safeguards an organization’s mail server and network.
• Unique Trojan & Executable Scanner detects malicious executables without need for virus updates.
How to handle objection
1. What is the difference between all the virus engines and why I should buy/renew them?
MSEC uses multiple virus scanners to scan inbound email. Using multiple scanners drastically reduces the average time
to obtain virus signatures which combat the latest threats, and therefore greatly reduces the chances of an infection. The
reason for this is that a single anti-virus company can never always be the quickest to respond. For each outbreak, virus
companies have varying response times to a virus, depending on where the virus was discovered, etc. By using multiple
virus engines, you have a much better chance of having at least one of your virus engines up-to-date and able to protect
against the latest virus. In addition, since each engine has its own heuristics and methods, one virus engine is likely to be
better at detecting a particular virus and its variants, while another virus engine would be stronger at detecting a different
virus. Overall, more virus engines means better protection. With thousands of viruses released every day, you cannot
afford to be caught without with latest virus definitions.

IT pain points/soundbites
• At least 90% of e-mail reaching corporate servers is spam – Nucleus Research, 2007.
• 80% of US SMBs have an anti-spam solution installed – GFI SMB Security Survey 2007.
• Spammers constantly changing techniques to bypass spam filters, for e.g. image, pdf and excel spam.

GFI WebMonitor for ISA server

The No.1 anti-virus & access control solution for ISA Server
Version: 4 (Released Aug 22, 2007)
Overview: http://www.gfi.com/webmon/
ReportPack: http://www.gfi.com/webmon/webmonreportpack.htm
IT pain points/soundbites
• Uncontrolled web browsing and downloading from the internet can result in security breaches, virus infections
company-wide and legal repercussions.
• The increased use of social networking sites such as Facebook during office hours is leading to lower productivity and
increased risk of data theft through social engineering.
• Web users’ browsing habits are hard to control. Banning access to the internet is not a solution.
Main features
• GFI WebMonitor is available in 3 editions, allowing you to choose a custom solution for the level of control and
protection your organization requires.
WebFilter Edition: Includes URL filtering and website categorization.
WebSecurity Edition: Includes anti-virus, anti-phishing and spyware detection.
UnifiedProtection Edition: Combines both WebFilter and WebSecurity editions.
• Multiple anti-virus protections through Norman Virus Control, BitDefender and Kaspersky (optional).
• Clear and concise view of Internet activity with real-time monitoring and shows URL and user browsing history.
• Allows user based and IP based exception lists and blocks adult sites via ISA destination sets.
Major selling points
• Best web monitoring software for ISA server (voted no.1 by ISAserver.org Readers’ Choice Awards - 3 years running.
• Over 5,000 companies using ISA server use GFI WebMonitor for URL filtering/anti virus – the best in the industry.
• Monitors web browsing and FTP downloading in real-time.
• Runs anti-virus scan on all users downloads through multiple virus engines! (Kaspersky, Norman and BitDefender).
• Using an extensive, constantly updated DB it filters sites based on category: porn, travel, social networking-Facebook
• Enables you to check traffic that jams your bandwidth and stop it on the fly.
How to handle objection
1. Why do I need WEBMON if I can block websites in ISA?
ISA server simply blocks traffic but with WEBMON you have so much more functionality. First of all, WEBMON ships with
WebGrade, a 100% human reviewed URL database that is updated in real time offering immediate protection. Apart from
that, you can monitor and control web browsing through the use of categories and time-based rules.
2. Why is the WebFilter edition so much more expensive than the WebSecurity edition?
The WebFilter edition requires that an 'accurate' database of URLs is constantly updated and maintained to reflect
changes in a very dynamic environment to offer real time protection. This cost of this real time monitoring/DB updating is
reflected in the higher price.

GFI FaxMaker for Exchange/SMTP/Lotus

The No.1 network fax server for Exchange/SMTP/Lotus
Version: 14 (Released Oct 4, 2007)
Overview: http://www.gfi.com/faxmaker/
ReportPack: http://www.gfi.com/faxmaker/faxreportpack.htm
White papers: http://www.gfi.com/faxmaker/faxpapers.htm
Case studies & testimonials: http://www.gfi.com/faxmaker/faxcustomers.htm
Product tour: http://www.gfi.com/faxmaker/faxpresentation.htm
IT pain points/soundbites
• Sending faxes manually is problematic: recipient’s line is engaged, the need for printouts, physically walking to the fax
machine, people wasting time chatting along the way and the fact that with multiple fax machines all incoming faxes
are dispersed throughout the company.
• In using manual faxing (time-consuming/expensive), companies lose out on benefits of email and VoIP technology.
Main features
• Allows users to send/receive and edit faxes directly from Outlook.
• Multiple fax routing options – DID, MSN & Line routing – routes faxes directly to the user’s mailbox!
• Server-based document conversion of Office, HTML and PDF files – allowing users to send any file type they wish.
• FOIP enabling you to cheaply send faxes over the Internet whilst integrating with your existing IP infrastructure.
• Send incoming faxes to users in PDF or TIF format. No changes to AD or to the Exchange Server required.
• Supports active ISDN cards, Brooktrout fax boards and modems.
Major selling points - Reduce costs with the no.1 fax server
• The No.1 network fax server that has been around for 10 years. Unbeatable pricing (check table below).
• Over 30,000 customers & over 30 awards (including
voted #1 by Windows IT Pro readers 3 years running)
• Makes sending and receiving faxes an efficient, simple and cheaper process as it reduces time spent sending,
collecting and distributing faxes.
• Excels in its seamless integration with Exchange and other mail servers.
• Allows users to send and receive faxes and SMS/text messages directly from their email client.
How to handle objection
1. I am a small business and cannot afford fax cards, but FAX modem support is limited.
FAX supports a range of quality modems chosen because of their reliability in the absence of a dedicated fax card. GFI
recommends using a fax modem that it supports for no other reason than quality and reliability.
2. Why should I purchase the OCR routing module?
The OCR feature enables you to convert incoming faxes to text and insert the converted text into the body of the received
fax report or as a separate text attachment. The converted text is then used for OCR routing depending on your
configuration. Searching for incoming faxes becomes much easier, because you can use the search features in your email
client or in your email archiving solution to retrieve past faxes quickly. Without OCR, the actual text in the fax cannot be
searched because it is stored as an image.

GFI MailArchiver for Exchange

Email archiving of internal and external email
Version: 5 (Released Nov 15, 2007)
Overview: http://www.gfi.com/mailarchiver/
White papers: http://www.gfi.com/mailarchiver/marpapers.htm
Why organizations need to archive emails
Case studies & testimonials: http://www.gfi.com/mailarchiver/marcustomers.htm
IT pain points/soundbites
• Growing mass-volume of emails and attached files is resulting in sluggish email server performance, server downtime
and reduced server storage space.
• Strong reliance on PST files creates problems for administrators, especially if corrupt or deleted.
• 60% of the critical corporate information is contained in the employees’ emails – Radicati Research Group.
• Employees want access to past emails – even if deleted – both at the office and when mobile.
• Email archiving is now a business requirement, driving by many pieces of legislation and Acts – SOX, E-Comm Act
2000, HIPAA, eDiscovery and others.
Main features
• Ending PST hell – eliminates the need to archive email in PST files on local hard disks. Users can browse web
search interface and retrieve emails from multiple databases, rather than digging through a store of PST files on disk.
• Emails are archived centrally for the entire organization into one or multiple databases.
• Allows admins to backup all email archives by simply backing up a database.
• Advanced email ‘search’/'saved search' capabilities. Quickly restores emails through a OneClick Restore process.
• Helps comply with Sarbanes-Oxley Act, SEC and other regulations.
• Full web-based interface allowing end-users to search all past email from anywhere in the world.
• Enhanced auditing functionality so that management can access any email that is requested for
eDiscovery/compliance purposes.
Major selling points - No.1 email archiving software for SMBs
• Already a top selling email archiving solution with over 10,000 customers. Best price/performance.
• Reduce reliance on PST files – prone to corruption, loss through hardware failure & requiring complex backup plans.
• Significantly reduce storage requirements for email by up to 80%.
• Helps to meet organizational email retention and categorization policies through rules.
• Increase Exchange performance and ease backup and restoration.
How to handle objection
1. Since MAR doesn't remove mail from the user's mailbox, how does it help reduce the size of my mail store?
Exchange can be configured to delete emails after a certain number of days, weeks or months. The ‘deleted’ email can
still be accessed using MAR.
2. How does MAR differ from solutions that remove the email from the user's mailbox and leave behind a link?
While this may reduce and limit storage problems for the end-user (as only a link is left), there are considerable effects on
the Exchange server and performance levels. MAR reduces the impact on the end-user by not depending on Outlook’s
.pst files, while the load on Exchange is also reduced. In both cases a better performance is achieved.

Case studies & testimonials: http://www.gfi.com/endpointsecurity/eseccustomers.htm
Product webcast: http://www.gfi.com/endpointsecurity/esecwebcast.htm EndPointScan: http://www.endpointscan.com/
IT pain points/soundbites
• 52% of enterprises have lost confidential data through removable media such as USB drives in the past two years –
Forrester, 2007.
• A US citizen found a memory stick with information on the US’s most expensive weapons program (www.wfaa.com);
A former Boeing employee was accused of stealing 320,000 files by copying the sensitive information to a portable
drive (Networkworld, July 2007).
• 68% of UK businesses underestimate the threat to network security posed by the widespread use of consumer
gadgets such as PDAs, iPods, Creative Zens, smartphones, cameras – GFI EndPointSecurity Survey, 2007.
Main features
• Controls use of all types of portable storage devices – such as USB sticks, iPods, PDAs.
• Granular access control, through the use of read only / read/write permissions on a user x user/device x device basis.
• Automated client-side agent deployment.
• Group-based protection control and log device-related user activity.
• Helps comply with PCI data security standards.
Major selling points
• Blocks insider data theft by controlling access to portable storage devices like memory cards, CDs & more.
• Prevents the introduction of viruses and unauthorized software by controlling all endpoint connectable devices such
as PDAs, laptops and more.
• Supports all types of connectable devices through USB/FireWire such as wireless cards, cameras, iPods, PDAs, etc.
• Provides full network-wide control through unique group-based protection.
• Advanced granular access control, whitelists and blacklists.
• Temporary access can be granted to users for a device on a particular computer for a particular timeframe.
How to handle objection
1. One of my major requirements is that transferred data is encrypted.
We do not offer encryption at the moment. However, do note that encryption does not protect a company from an
employee copying material from the network or uploading malicious material such as viruses. A deeper approach to
endpoint security is required; one that ESEC allows the administrator to perform.
2. Why do I need ESEC when I can lock-down devices using Group Policy?
ESEC provides a level of granularity that you will not get using Group Policy as well as various functions such as real time
monitoring, time-based permissions that make endpoints more secure. ESEC is easier to configure than Group Policy.

IT pain points/soundbites
• Thousands of events are generated by operating systems and devices on the network every day.
• Keeping track of these events manually is impossible without a dedicated solution.
• If not properly analyzed, administrators may not be able to act in time if something goes wrong.
• Failure to archive events required for compliance purposes can result in severe penalties.

How to handle with objection
1. I should be monitoring events but I do not have the understanding/skills required to implement such a solution.
ESM comes with a wide-range of pre-set rules that allows the administrator, even with little knowledge of events
management, to use the product effectively and out-of-the-box.

GFI General questions
Why use a software product and not an appliance or a service?
Each solution has its advantages and disadvantages, however, for SMBs, who are our main customers software always
remains the best option.
1. They cost more to purchase and to maintain
2. They are another item on the network to keep track of
3. Out-of-the box configuration may not suit customer who is not highly technical or trained to customize.
Software hosting/service
1. Could work out more expensive long-term
2. No control over how data is handled
3. Security issues.
1. Initial expense but pays for itself over time
2. Full control and customization
3. Data is secure
4. No third-parties involved.
Why is GFI so cheap?
GFI is not ‘cheap’ but develops software that meets the needs of a small and medium sized business without extra bells
and whistles. Unlike enterprise products that are ‘downsized’ for SMBs, GFI has built its software from the ground up to
target SMBs at a lower price point. This allows GFI to not only be competitive but also leaders on price in our core markets.
GFI is great value for money.
If I don't renew SMA, what will happen with the product aside from just not having free support and version
For most of GFI’s products, if an SMA is not renewed, the product will continue to work but with no support or free upgrades.
GFI WebMonitor, which is sold on a subscription basis, will stop working except for its monitoring functionality.
What are the system requirements for all products?
Please refer to the specific requirements on the website (product feature pages). As a general reply, all products work in a
Microsoft Windows environment and on the latest operating systems (x86 and 64-bit).
Why are GFI’s products priced so low?
Why buy from GFI?
Why resell GFI products?
Why focus on the SMB market?
